Mike’s business career started with Barclays Mercantile Credit in North West England.  He progressed through a variety of senior roles spanning credit management, commercial investments and bank compliance risk to become National Business Development Director with overall responsibility for the performance and relationships within the National Account Portfolio.

After a career spanning more than two decades at Barclay’s, Mike joined Shell United Kingdom’s wholly owned subsidiary, Shell Automotive as Vice President Business Development & Operations.

He has also held senior management positions at Automotive Financial Services (AFS was founded by the Austro Hungarian businessman Octav Botnar, as an extension of his successful Nissan import and distribution company Nissan UK) and Singer & Friedlander Commercial Finance.

Mike joined Capitas in 2008 and has been responsible for managing complex transactions, strategically supporting the launch of new Capitas products or services into the energy sector and ensuring customer service standards are high and continually improving. Now enjoying his retirement, Mike works with the business in a part-time advisory role.

Mike has a Degree in Applied Physics from the University of Bradford and achieved personal development and training awards covering credit management, project management, people management and strategic negotiation.
