Our Asset Expertise

What we finance

Capitas funds business-critical assets to help organisations function and grow. We fully understand the asset types that we finance; the dynamics of the equipment, their values, their working life, and we have a broad and deep knowledge of the sectors that our customers operate in.

We have special business focus and asset expertise in:

  • Energy-Efficiency Finance
  • IT Finance
  • Machinery Finance
  • Premises Finance

Traditional banks credit & risk policies are typically based on strong asset and other security arrangements. Instead, our approach to lending is determined by the type of transaction which we categorise as being asset backed, covenant based and/or story driven … typically we wish to satisfy two out of these three criteria.

The relevance of the assets listed above is that some have high intrinsic value whilst others have low intrinsic value. However, in either case the equipment tends to be mission critical to the organisation or high net worth individual. i.e. it is something that it can’t operate or generally do without.

For larger structured finance transactions, our team of senior ‘hands-on’ professionals thoroughly review financial statements, understand the experience of the senior management teams we deal with, history, sector, competitors, customers, future strategy and the value of the asset you wish to acquire. The resulting due diligence improves credit approval and facility take-up ratios for a broader range of customer needs.

By considering each transaction in a more rounded way than just the hard value of the asset and the financials alone, it allows Capitas to specialise in areas that traditional banks and finance houses typically exclude.
